Canadian Thanksgiving - October 2010

OK, time for some catch-up blogging!  We celebrated Thanksgiving twice in 2010, since we're Canadian AND American (hey, gotta have SOME perks!).  I decided to keep it simple - with a twist!
The Cook
Toasting with Kool-Aid!
Sweet Potato/White Potato mix
Instead of mashed AND sweet potato dishes, I mixed them, cubed, and fried them, sprinkling Cajun seasoning on them.
Chicken with bubbat baked on top
I baked a chicken instead of a turkey.  I prepared it with bubbat (kind of like a bread/biscuit type top with raisins) instead of rolls and stuffing.
The corn was just simple, heated up with butter, salt and pepper.

I'm so thankful that while I'm far away from home, parents, siblings and church family, I still have my wonderful husband and kids here with me.  I couldn't be thankful enough for that...it makes a lot of things much better!  Thank-you Lord!
