Overnight Stay/Clinic Dedication

When we got to the village, we spent the night in this guest room, sharing a mattress (that was extra-special, as generally we'd sleep on a woven mat on the wood floor) but sleeping under our own mosquito nets.

Our room was up these two flights of stairs - green door on right was the bathroom.

This clinic opening is a HUGE deal for those who live in this village and the surrounding area.  The day before the opening they had an eye clinic and had about 150 people show up.  30 were referred for free eye surgery at a mission hospital associated with the clinic.

Another Trip Interior!

Last week I had the opportunity to accompany a translator into her tribe for the dedication of a clinic that is opening in one of the villages.  We drove about 5 hours on a NICE road - and except for my penchant to be carsick, it was a pretty good experience!  Here are some of the photos from the way in!

 I think this is smoke, not mist - it hadn't rained for a while so the people are burning their rice fields in preparation for the next planting season.

If you want to take your bike across the river, you don't take the big ferry - you take this boat or one like it!

Ministry Trip Interior

Josh & I took a ministry trip interior in June.  We drove in through the jungle and took a boat out.

We crossed this river to get from the "trail" to the village.
