June 2012

Josh and a colleague

We had a fun event with all of our local colleagues

Sarah and I

Julia

Me with a colleague

Sarah brought Star Wars pancake molds - so of course we had to try them!

As tradition dictates, we took Sarah out for coffee one of her last weeks here.

Sarah also celebrated her birthday while she was living with us, so we made her the traditional meal - Nasi Kuning.

I also made her an ice cream cake!

THIS was a typical scene the 5 weeks Sarah was with us! :)  The kids loved having a big sister!

Making individual pizzas with the contents of one of the packages Sarah's parents sent.

So exciting!

YUM!

Julia and Sarah made "Funfetti" cupcakes for Julia's half-birthday.

Sarah iced the cupcakes and made a crown "cake" for Julia!

Sarah is SO creative

SO BEAUTIFUL!

May 2012

I got home in mid-May, and it was a treat to bring back surprises for the family.  Josh enjoyed coffee from some friends!
A week or two later we got a package in the mail from our Small Group - they'd sent a Christmas party in a box!  Complete with "snow"!

We all took turns opening our presents - they'd wrapped them all and unbelievably they made it here without being unwrapped in customs!

May long weekend we celebrated Josh's birthday with a couple of friends.  I made him a coconut cake and filled and frosted it with chocolate ganache.  I covered it with handfuls of shredded coconut and topped it with chocolate dipped almonds and dribbles of ganache.

Sarah (our homeschool helper) moved in for a couple of weeks!  It was fun to have a teen around for a while!  We sure miss her!
